What are they saying about Tristan Thunderbolt?

THE DEAF WARRIOR, written, produced and starring Tristan Thunderbolt is an amazing independent gem of a film. In 29 minutes Thunderbolt and his radiant co-star Julie Golde take us on a beautiful and profound journey.

Thunderbolt's liner notes promise us a a change in the way we perceive deaf people. I have to admit, I was changed by this film.

The love story between the characters is captured in all its innocence, understanding, passion and warmth.  THE DEAF WARRIOR transends the horror/action genre. This is much less a horror/action film as it is a love story.  Beautiful.

Low budget. Don't expect Star Wars effects. Well edited. See this one if you have the opportunity. Cute blooper reel comes with the DVD as well.  Fred Jardin---Director  "Alice In Storageland"

THE MEDUIM  "That the choice to have Toby's character (Tristan) sign in The Black Swan made his character more believable and part of the scene, like he actually was singing; and that his signing in Monicas Waltz was a great choice because it made the relationship between Monica and Toby more real and deep.  She also said that Tristan's signing was very emotional and compelling."  (famous soprano singer)

LITTLE MARY SUNSHINE "The musical even has an Indian in the cast by the name of Tristan Thunderbolt, from the Chipewa/Ojibewa tribe of Canada, who plays Chief Brown Bear. He is very good and uses real Indian sign language."  Richard Connema Broadways Talking

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT Tristan Thunderbolt, a deaf actor, performs a song in sign language as Joseph sings, and a choir of local schoolchildren joins in for the closing number. There are more creative twists that viewers will just have to see for themselves."    BY HALIE JOHNSON -Contributing Writer   GUARDSMAN

In the Fall of 1999 on a cloudy day in San Francisco, California while nibbling on a three cheese egg scramble, a breakfast plate at "All You Knead" restaurant on Haight Street I decided on my theatrical goals.  I decided that I am going to be an entertainer.  I decided to be an actor.  I had to get back to what I love and acting in theatre and film has been empowering and inspirational.

As an actor; I value perfection.  I love to take challenging roles that push the envelope.  I have been so blessed to be working in the Bay Area theater community consistently since 1999.  Every theatre experience I obtain vitalizes my juices and I always seem to learn something new about the theatrical art. Entertainment is important to me. I love it when I am able to make an audience smile, squirm or cry-crying is one of my favorite emotions I like doing on stage and film.  The Internet is an ideal place to display my theatre/film passion and gives directors, artists, photographers an opportunity to see my work.

I am quite a unique actor.  Although, I have a hearing impairment (high pitch deafness) which will bring an interesting twist to any theater play or movie. I can speak quite well and took speech therapy for 12+ years. I have recently learned how to be a fire eater! My skills as an actor surpass any barriers of deafness. I have the ability to learn new characters quickly. Deliver lines with passion and clarity.

I am fluent in American Sign Language and graduated from Gallaudet University in Washington DC.  I used sign language in the musicals I have been in: "Hair!", "Little Mary Sunshine" and "Joseph and the Amazing Techno-color Dream Coat".  The press made raving comments on all three shows for their creative touches.

I am a proud Native American (Chippewa/Ojibwa) Indian. Along with a great sense of humor and dynamic personality, I have superb theater work habits and I will bring diversity at its best to any theater enviornment. I love to work with artists, directors and other actors who want to try new things in theater and film. I will give it everything I got. As usual, I always show up on time and always commit to roles or projects given.

 Other Services: Empowerment Speaker

I offer corporations, schools, conference planners, and others empowerment workshops on disability awareness, deafness, my Native American upbringing, and powerful dialogues that are profound and moving.  I create both comical and serious views on life that will impact people when they leave my workshop. I am able to cater to your needs-develop workshops that will be profound and I thank you for giving me the opportunity. Please e-mail me for details.

Please read my theater resume/bio which shows done professionally and otherwise.
